How to prepare for your examination

Bring your health insurance card

Bring all your test results, especially your X-ray and MRI scans

Prepare a list – reminder which includes:

  • Detailed descriptions of all the symptoms and events that have caused these symptoms
  • Information about past medical problems
  • All the medications and dietary supplements you are taking
  • Questions that you would like to ask the doctor

Example: painful shoulder joint

The basic questions that need answering:

  • Is my shoulder dislocated?
  • Do I need to have any tests or scans done?
  • What approach to treatment do you recommend? Is there an alternative?
  • How long before my condition is cured?
  • Do I have to give up or cut down on physical activity?
  • How do I protect myself from injuring my shoulder again?

What to expect from your doctor

During the medical examination, your doctor will examine the injured area for sensitivity, swelling or deformity. If he finds any, he will analyse the X-ray of the injury as well as other test results. He will make a diagnosis, recommend therapy and give his prognosis.
